FDA approves Tukysa regimen for RAS wild-type, HER2-positive metastatic colorectal cancer

The FDA granted accelerated approval to tucatinib in combination with trastuzumab for adults with RAS wild-type, HER2-positive metastatic or unresectable colorectal cancer, according to a company press release.
The approval applies to patients who experienced disease progression after fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin- and irinotecan-based chemotherapy.
“Historically, patients with HER2-positive metastatic colorectal cancer who have progressed following front-line therapy have had poor outcomes,” John Strickler, MD, associate professor of medicine at Duke University Medical Center,
