A Painless Bulky Lesion of the Tongue

A 4-year-old girl came to our attention with a tongue lesion, which had been present for 3 months; the lesion was variably sized, asymptomatic, and causing discomfort while speaking and eating. There was no previous trauma. A large, exophytic, translucent, fleshy, nontender mass was on the right hemilingual ventral surface with mucous “spillage”. The cervical lymph nodes were not enlarged, and tongue movements were not impaired.
